Not for reals of course, but in a "mommy caught a super precious moment and never wanna forget it" kind of way! Quinn and I checked on Asa tonight to find him sharing all of the room he had on his bed with his dear friends. His bed is really small people, which tells me what kind of person he is. Asa is sweet, selfless and kind. Such a small, cute act of kindness. He has no idea what a proud mom I am of him tonight.

a Haslem filled weekend.
what an wonderful weekend we had! And I am sad to admit I have hardly any pictures to show for it. I always leave that family feeling motivated, loved, energized and just all around better. We did our normal sisterly things. Lots of talking and lots of playing and plenty of relaxing. We celebrated Quinn's big 33 while we were there. We were able to go on a mini date, then Quinn got massaged with his fancy new massager for most of the afternoon.
We then had a BBQ and ate some ice cream cake SLOP. That I made. lesson learned!
So speaking of my Quinn brings me to my next point. Sarah sent me home with a bin full of junk that has been sitting in my parents garage for years. Quinn and I began digging through it. Most of it was junk, but to my surprise there were lots of treasures! In it I found many memories of my young self. Soccer clippings, photos, notes and lots of silly documents that were once such a huge part of my life. I was FLOODED with old memories. A lot of good,
some not so good. As I threw much of the silly things that just don't matter any more away, i felt AWESOME... and this is why...

My reward
It was a long, hard day today, with lots of tantrums, timeouts and frustration. But this moment with my boys makes me forget it all, and I truly feel like the luckiest girl in this universe. Who ever said being a mom is a thankless job??

One giant step.
Asa grew up right before my eyes today. That sweet little 2 year old LOVES his binky. LOVES IT. I will even admit how much I love that thing! He only got it at nap time and bed time, but that tiny piece of plastic was magical. We all relied on it. But as of today, it is gone. Yes, it is bitter sweet. We took him to target and had him pick out a toy in place of his much loved binky. We walked the aisles picking and choosing different toys and finally came across one we could not pry out of his arms. So we took his talking dinosaur to the checkout and he walked over to the trash can and threw his binky inside. I almost cried. I felt like it was such a big moment. My baby is growing up before my eyes and I can't stop it. Tonight before bed he asked for it but remembered he had his dinosaur and has now been in bed now since 8:30. I am SO proud of my little Asa.
