Stubborn and Strong

Dont let that adorable sweet smile fool you! Asa's personality is just as my title says, Stubborn and Strong!

That cute boy is very strong willed but he has a heart of gold!

As all kids do, he knows how to test his boundaries and tries everyday to test mom and dad!

Quinn today brought up a nice thought. He said that it seems as though many of the new generation today are recognized as strong willed kids, and that they had to be saved for this day and age. Now if we can direct these sweet strong willed spirits in the right direction can you imagine what they will be able to stand up against?  The battles they will face will be far greater than what I grew up with, but with the right tools I KNOW they will succeed. 

Asa and Kyran were the second and third boys who forever stole my heart and everyday I am blessed to be in their lives I am beyond grateful! And FAR beyond blessed.

I just love sleepy babies don't you?

But I do not like a messy kitchen, so I am on my way to clean my heart out.

Today is going to be Fantastic.

I just know it:)

Getting back to it!!

We are trying to get back to normal now that school is back in.. Quinn started his last semester of school and we are so ecstatic  for him to be done!!

I was spoiled during Christmas break, I had 2 extra hands around the house. Quinn did the dishes made dinner and did most of Asa's potty training.  I loved having him around and I am going to seriously miss him this semester.  Have I mentioned he got all A's again last semester?  I just think that it's so incredible and he still does not give himself the credit he deserves.

I think we are close to being done with Asa and his Potty training. He still cant stay dry at night, but he has had no accidents during the day in almost a week. 

It has taken a WHOLE BUNCH of patience and time  but it's been worth it. For the lady who thinks kids can be trained in 3 days did not have a stubborn kid.

Along with many frustrating moments, there  have been many cute ones too. Like when he goes poop he has to look at what he has done... even if hes not finished (patience...) and says "oh WOOOW!" And of course gives himself a big applause! And usually makes a really gross mess on his toilet seat. ( more patience)

It is worth it... Promise!

My baby is becoming a big boy. It's so bittersweet. 

  

I do think he is so adorable in his big boy undies.

I think pretty soon you wont be able to tell the age difference between these two.

They are still babies to me though. 

I love them more and more each day.

 Happy Birthday Asa!  I think Asa has one of the most beautiful smiles in the world, besides Kyran of course! We had a fun day trying to entertain the birthday boy. I am a little sad that he was not able to be surrounded by extended family.But I tried hard so he wouldn't feel deprived today.

We took him to the" dead animal zoo" as Quinn calls it, at Cabellas, which he totally loved, and then we got some energy out at Albertsons park. He ran, and chased the geese and got really tired and worn out!

 

This little boy was just as sweet as ever. Kyran just enjoys being along for the ride.  He has his 4 top teeth coming in right now, poor guy. But you would hardly know it by how good he is. 

In spite of the few tantrums we had today  I think it was a good 2nd birthday! I  love trying to make his day extra special!

I am grateful every single day that we have been blessed to have Asa in our family. He is truly a special  little boy and makes me so grateful to be a mom!!

Thanks to Quinn and his hard work this summer, our family was rewarded with a day of fun!  We went on a train ride up in Horseshoe Bend . It took us all the way to the North Pole!

It was our first time on a train, and it was exciting for all of us. I think the boys faces describes it best. 

They got to meet Santa and Mrs. Clause, Asa was so excited to see him from far away, But as soon as he came to see us, he clammed up and wouldn't say a thing! Figures....

It was still really cute.

...and Kyran doesn't really like anyone. But it was worth a try!

(I am kidding. he's a SWEET boy, just a HUGE mamma's boy which I totally love)

I have learned as parent I now live my life for these sweet little moments of happiness. I love to see my boys smile and laugh. 

What a fantastic day!

Winter...Bleh...This is basically how our winter has gone so far. But cute, right?  We have to find silly ways to entertain ourselves indoors. Here in Boise, Winter has basically just begun but I am so much craving  some warm summer sun. I think I am in for a long winter!

Some days I get so tired of being stuck inside our cramped apartment. But I know that it's not forever and I am so grateful I have been blessed with  a warm home filled with 3 amazing people!

Not a bad trade off huh?

Craving a Salad....

Yes that is right. Salad. My body needs a Salad, But Thanksgiving with my DEAR sister Sarah and her family was amazing! By the way I am kidding about the Salad Sarah. kind of.

The kids were SO patient with Asa!  I think Asa started to think he owned the place. SWOORY guys...

There was a lot of fun, a lot of laughing, a lot of relaxing and a lot of eating going on at the Haslems and we loved every minute we had with them. Thank you so much again Haslems for letting us bring our chaos to Rexburg! Love you all!
